Clear presentation of the program structure

Simplifier Manager is clearly structured and allows you quick access to the individual programs of the Simplifiers.

Add your comments wherever necessary to make the program code easier to read and understand. Thus, future users can easily understand the programming which helps when modifying the program, if necessary.

Distribution of safety functions

In order to gain more clarity, safety functions can be arranged on different pages using memories. This simplifies the validation and programming of your application.

Validation and check of your application software

The Safety Simplifier Manager supports you during the creation of the validation documentation according to EN ISO 13849-2. The Project report contains safety related parameters like PFHd values and reaction times according to EN ISO 13849-1 for the Safety Simplifier System. Furthermore, it has a checksum for the project and for each page of the program. If you do any changes you only need to check the changed pages (= changed checksum) and the impact they have on the safety function. This saves a lot of time during safety inspections.

Online diagnosis & wireless programming

With the Simplifier Monitor connected to your computer, you have the access to the online mode and you can download the programs to each Safety Simplifier wirelessly.

In Online mode, you can see the ON and OFF state of all I/O:s (and individual function blocks) as well as the status of the communication between the Safety Simplifiers.

Generation 2 – Designed for Scalable and Connected Safety

Generation 2 is the latest platform, built for modern and connected safety applications with improved communication, flexibility and diagnostics.

Key features
• Improved radio communication
• SimpleCAN connectivity (PROFIsafe)
• Black Channel communication (WiFi, 5G, Ethernet, etc.)
• Dynamic memory architecture across up to 16 units
• Extended diagnostic data (additional non-safe memory)
• SD card logging for fast troubleshooting
• System connectivity between Simplifier networks and external systems

Coming soon

Total Synchronization

Generation 2 introduces a dynamic memory architecture that removes the limitations of fixed and isolated resources.

  • Flexible allocation of 256 safety bits across up to 16 units
  • No unused capacity – distribute resources where they are needed
  • Full repeating of all safety data across the entire system

Benefit:
A fully synchronized system where all units share the same real-time information, improving stability and enabling balanced system design regardless of application complexity.

Data Points

To improve both safety and diagnostics, data is now separated into safe and non-safe signals.

  • 256 safe bits + 256 diagnostic bits
  • Clear separation between safety logic and system status

Benefit:
Full visibility of machine performance without overloading safety logic, enabling faster diagnostics and better operational insight.

PROFIsafe Integration

SimpleCAN enables seamless integration between Safety Simplifier systems and external safety networks.

  • Connectivity to protocols such as PROFIsafe
  • Supports connection of multiple systems and networks

Benefit:
Scalable system design, from individual machines to complete production lines, with reliable and efficient communication.

Black Channel Communication

Black Channel technology enables safe communication over non-safe networks, allowing safety signals to be transmitted securely over standard communication media.

  • Safety communication over WiFi, 5G, Ethernet and other networks
  • Secure transmission over non-safety-rated infrastructure

Benefit:
Full flexibility in choosing communication medium. You can use the network that best fits your application and existing infrastructure for communication between Safety Simplifiers – without compromising safety.

Digital Logging

Integrated logging functionality provides full traceability of system events.

  • Continuous diagnostic logging to SD memory card
  • Easy access to historical system data

Benefit:
Faster troubleshooting with clear event history, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.

Integration and Connectivity

Safety communication
Gateway to PROFIsafe. Configure in Simplifier Manager or in TIA Portal. Additional Gateways to be released.

Non-safety communication
Software gateway for communication with other PLC systems.

PROFIsafe Gateway – Integration with PLC Systems

The PROFIsafe Gateway enables safe communication between Safety Simplifier systems and Siemens PLCs.

A Simplifier is connected to the Gateway via fieldbus, acting as a communication hub for up to 15 additional Simplifiers connected via wireless or CAN. All safety signals from the system are collected and transmitted through the Gateway to the PLC.

Signals can be configured either in TIA Portal or in Simplifier Manager, providing flexibility in system integration.

Requires Generation 2 software and firmware. Compatibility: Hardware version K or later can be updated with new firmware (for free).

Benefit – Seamless PLC Integration:
Easy integration with PLC systems while maintaining a scalable and distributed safety architecture. Connect multiple Simplifiers to a central controller and manage all safety signals in one system.

Software Gateway for Cross-PLC Communication

Integrating control systems without matching fieldbus protocols usually requires expensive hardware upgrades. Our Software Gateway solves this by enabling high-speed, reliable data transfer between any PLCs using only standard digital I/O.

By utilizing a custom-engineered software shift register, the gateway converts complex 32-bit payloads, such as absolute encoder positions into a synchronous serial stream. This data is transmitted flawlessly across just two standard 24V wires: a Data line and a Clock line.

Benefit – Cost-Efficient System Integration:
Connect different PLC systems without changing hardware or fieldbus protocols. Reduce integration cost and complexity while enabling reliable high-speed communication using standard I/O.
